Cistus essential oil (Esteva)

Cistus (Cistus ladaniferus) is the signature fragrance of our land here. As a pioneer plant it plays a crucial part in land regeneration, it comes in to repair the terrain after soil has been disturbed and degraded, dried out and cracked. It can repair our skin in the same way and is great for dry skin, wrinkles and scars, it helps wounds heal cleanly, and the hydrosol is one of the best remedies for itchy skin. On an emotional level, it heals generational trauma, soothes anxiety and helps those who are fearful. Traditionally it has been used for lung infections and recent research shows anti-microbial action. But most important, it smells divine! An ancient perfume it is resinous, sweet and fresh.
