swim in the lake, explore the area, or just sit quietly and enjoy the view.
We will take care of you with good food and comfortable accommodation,
the rest is up to you. Enjoy a total re-set, you deserve it!

If sitting around doing nothing is not for you, try one of our nature
focussed activities. You can spend guided time with the herd and learn
about them and yourself. Or learn how to distill plants for essential
oils and hydrosols, make medicine and connect with plant energy.

Silent Retreat
For more experienced meditators, if you would like to spend some time in quiet contemplation in your own room with no other distractions, we can facilitate that.
We will support your body with simple vegetarian food served to your room at regular
times, and keep an eye on your comfort unobtrusively. If you need anything from us
we are right there, but otherwise, you are on your own.
Here are guidelines for a 21 day meditation from Osho, but you can choose how many
days you want to do. Package includes, Accommodation, all food and drink, pick up and
drop off from Funcheira train station
Comfortable Accommodation
Our home here in Portugal is a beautiful off-grid eco-camp. Our facilities are designed to blend in to the landscape unobtrusively. The spaces are simple and clean, giving you the feeling of camping with the comfort of a room. Accommodation is in simple wooden cabins or caravans, with all bedding supplied. We have warm showers and flush toilets in a small bathroom block. And a communal kitchen space where we gather to eat or hang out. All stays include breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Self-catering is not possible apart from tea and snacks and, sorry, no children under 12. Our ethos is very much one of celebrating our embodied experience on this planet, with good food, good wine and good conversation, with a side of meditative awareness. Choose your room below

The Caravan

Everyone loves the caravan. It’s been completely refitted and has the feel of a wooden cabin but it’s really light and airy with great views across the hills. It is located in the heart of the camp, close to all facilities. Can sleep 3
The Zendos
The Zen-dos are two single spaces in one building, small and uncluttered in true Zen style. They are at the edge of the camp, overlooking the cork oak valley and beyond, but still close to all facilities. They are not interconnecting.
Zendo East
2 nights from €210
Zendo East is closer to toilets and the kitchen, while still being very private. It is a single room, ideal for the solitary traveler who wants to feel connected
Zendo West
2 nights from €210
Zendo West is on the back side of the duplex overlooking the woodlands and hills. An ideal space for quiet contemplation, or writing your book.

Just came back from a week at Over The Edge, learning about Essential Oils with Nayana – what an amazing experience! The land is beautiful, amazing sunrises and sunsets, the animals (horses, dogs, cats) we shared space with were amazing, and I loved my home for two weeks: my little green caravan. I don’t think words (or pictures) can really describe the experience, one must be there to truly understand the magic.
We had the most wonderful time at Over The Edge! It was so relaxing and resourcing to connect with such amazing nature the beautiful animals!
And of course not forgetting our adorable hosts who fed us well and were so welcoming. Thank you so much!

In the Neighbourhood
If you have transport you may enjoy exploring the neighbourhood (there is no public transport locally). We are located about 45 minutes drive from both the South and West Coasts of Portugal, where you can find beautiful beaches and friendly villages. We are 8km from the village of Sao Martinho Das Amoreiras and the Mooji community. There are a couple of restaurants there, Casa Nirvana is a multicultural social hub with international cuisine, and Poco Novo is a very typical small Portuguese cafe that serves lunch. There is also a lively monthly artisan market. The historic town of Silves is 30 minutes or so. And there are often local markets to check out. In short, if you feel the need to explore, there is lots to interest you.
How to Get Here
By Car
By Train
We are 1.5 hours from Faro airport or 2 hours from Lisbon. From either airport you can easily catch a train. They leave 3 or 4 times a day to Funcheira station, 20 minutes from us. We can pick you up from there (cost €20 unless otherwise stated). More info on trains in Portugal here.
Airport Transfer
We can arrange pick up from Lisbon for €200 per vehicle (so cost per person is divided by the number of passengers) or Faro for €100.
By Bus
You can also travel by bus from either Lisbon or Faro to Ourique, more info here. We can pick you up from Ourique (cost €25)
